Going into this election, Labour was in a dominant position with an overall majority (more than half of the seats) on the 101-seat council.

Opinion polls in the run-up to this election have suggested that could change, with strong showings for Reform UK, previously unrepresented on the council, as well as Greens and Independents.

With all the seats up for election, all eyes will be on whether any party can again take a majority, or whether there’ll be a minority or coalition administration in the coming years.
