Fashion illustrators Elyse Blackshaw and Daria Stephenson are hosting a relaxed evening of fashion drawing in Manchester this May, inviting beginners and curious creatives to explore illustration in a welcoming, pressure-free setting.
Taking place at XYZ Building in Spinningfields on Thursday 28 May from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, the two-hour workshop will guide participants through a series of experimental fashion drawing exercises designed to build confidence and creativity.
No previous experience is needed, with the session aimed at anyone interested in trying something new, developing drawing skills or simply enjoying a creative evening in the city.
Throughout the workshop, guests will experiment with a range of drawing materials and techniques, from quick gesture sketches to more detailed figure drawing. The session will also explore ways to add personality and realism to illustrations while encouraging participants to focus on experimentation rather than perfection.
By the end of the evening, attendees will leave with several finished artworks to take home, alongside new creative skills and inspiration.
The workshop takes place inside Department XYZ, a creative hub in the heart of Manchester known for its studios, collaborative spaces and sustainable design, powered entirely by green energy.
The event is suitable for solo visitors or groups of friends looking for a laid-back creative experience in one of Manchester’s most modern artistic spaces.
