A beloved UK retailer is bringing its new ‘concept’ store to another Scottish location. The highly anticipated opening will also bring with it the chance to win some prizes.
Clintons, which has been a staple on the high street for almost 60 years, has been in the process of refurbishing its Glasgow Fort branch. Located in between Argos and Footlocker, the opening is scheduled for Saturday, May 9.
It comes as part of the greeting card specialist’s nationwide transformation of its stores up and down the country. Said to offer an improved shopping experience, it now provides “a more modern and welcoming space for customers.”
The new Glasgow Fort branch will feature the brand’s premium greetings cards and gifts for special occasions. There will also be an expanded stationary collection, alongside exclusive additions to the popular Poppy & Duckling range of plush toys.
Shoppers will also now find a section dedicated to party essentials. This will provide must-have celebratory items including helium balloons, banners and badges.

To celebrate the Glasgow Fort opening, Clintons will be hosting a spin-to-win giveaway. This will provide shoppers with the chance to win a range of prizes, such as 20 percent off purchases or three complimentary cards to give to friends and family.
The opening comes as the iconic British retailer has been rolling out its new ‘concept’ store design to its more than 140-strong UK estate. With shopping habits changing, these stores are said to reflect the modern day consumers, with refreshed interiors and revamped product lines.
While initially rolled out across England last year, this does mark the second Glasgow store upgrade. In April, the retailer’s Silverburn branch, which has been open since 2007, received a similar upgrade, becoming the first in Scotland to boast the new format.
Phil Goodman, centre director at Glasgow Fort, said: “Clintons is a much-loved name when it comes to cards and gifts, so we’re excited to be welcoming a new and improved store to Glasgow Fort.
“Whether you’re picking up a last-minute card, or planning a celebration, Clintons has all the essentials – and the launch event is the perfect opportunity to come along and see what’s new.”
James Taylor, Trading Director at Clintons, said: “Glasgow Fort has been a key location for us for many years, and we’re thrilled to be bringing our new-look store concept there.
“This relocation is a real milestone in our roll-out programme, and we can’t wait for customers – both loyal and new – to experience the elevated environment we’ve created.
“There’s something for every occasion, and we look forward to welcoming Glasgow shoppers to discover the next chapter of Clintons.”
This is just the latest exciting news for Glasgow Fort, as the Scottish shopping destination recently unveiled plans to undergo a massive 60,000 sq. ft expansion that will add more shops and leisure options, such as a bowling alley and an arcade.
If approved, these plans will see the current Marks & Spencer branch upsized by 32,000 sq. ft, essentially turning it into a flagship for the high street retailer and the largest in Scotland, overtaking the current Edinburgh Straiton branch.
