One Cornwall attraction popular with locals and tourists has been ranked among the best attractions in the UK – and the whole world.

Camel Creek Family Adventure Park was ranked at 16th on the planet and ninth in Europe in the Amusements and Water Parks category in the TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do awards.

The awards highlight the highest rated experiences and attractions around the world based on millions of Tripadvisor reviews and ratings from its global community.

While the adventure park may not be as renowned worldwide as the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh, which topped the national and global list, or the Eiffel Tower in Paris, it scored high on the family entertainment list and visitors love it. The Cornish attraction, near Wadebridge enjoyed a four-star rating on TripAdvisor from more than 2,200 reviews from customers.

Of Camel Creek Adventure Park, TripAdvisor said: “Get ready for non-stop fun and thrills at Camel Creek – Cornwall’s greatest, award-winning, adventure park.

“With more than 40 rides and attractions to discover, the whole family is guaranteed a day filled with 100 per cent fun.

“From family roller-coaster, Morgawr and the huge water slide at Raging Rivers to meeting new animal friends including cheeky meerkats and scaley reptiles, there are family favourites to keep everyone entertained.

“Plus, for all-weather fun, there’s more than 45,000 square feet of indoor play to explore. Challenge yourself at Shipwreck Shores Adventure Golf, let imaginations run wild at Merlin’s Magical Playground, and take a break at the Hidden Garden Café and indoor play.”

This year, the Royal Yacht Britannia in Edinburgh was named the number one Top Attraction in the world. Queen Elizabeth II’s former floating palace, now docked in the Scottish capital’s Leith harbour district, has jumped up 11 spots since it first placed on the world list last year at number 12.

Another Edinburgh attraction to make the world list is The Real Mary King’s Close at number six while the Bodleian Library in Oxford came in at number 13.

Franck Bruyère, chief executive, The Royal Yacht Britannia, said: “We are incredibly proud of The Royal Yacht Britannia’s success and wish to thank our visitors for taking the time to share their gift of feedback. Being number one in the world is a tremendous achievement and a testament to our team’s unwavering commitment to delivering an exceptional visitor experience.”

When it comes to tours and experiences, this year’s number one top experience in the world is a Porto walking tour which costs less than £3 per person. The Unvanquished Tour in Porto City Center reclaimed the top spot having previously won the accolade back in 2024.

With more than 25,000 five-star reviews, travellers love this tour for its coverage of Porto’s history, architecture, as well as local food and drink recommendations. Closer to home, the Beatles Magical Mystery Tour in Liverpool has been named number five in the world.
