The Great Bristol Run roars to life today as thousands of runners prepare to limber up for the city spectacle.

We’ll bring you all of the action from the occasion in our live blog below.

The AJ Bell Great Bristol Run features two separate running routes: a 10k and a half-marathon. Both races have staggered start times, with the first wave of runners setting off from start points at Anchor Road and Canons Way, beginning from 8.20am.

Roads across the city will be closed throughout the day, with some closures starting from as early as 2am on Sunday morning. All affected roads are scheduled to reopen by 6pm.

Runners are expected to face mild weather, which will likely come as some relief, with highs of 15C forecast by 1pm, and overcast, but not wet, conditions expected.

There will also be additional water points available along both routes this year. You can read more about that here .
