Gensmile, based at Whitehill House, Windmill Hill Business Park, has secured investment from NatWest to help transform its South West practices into centres of clinical excellence.
The funding will support improvements in patient care and professional training in dentistry, as well as the group’s ambition to become a leader in digital dentistry.
Simon Turton, CEO and co-founder of Gensmile, said: “Our partnership approach means local dentists can focus on what matters most – delivering excellent patient care – while benefiting from the latest technology and training.
“This funding from NatWest will help us create clinical excellence hubs and invest in digital dentistry, ensuring communities across the South West have access to world-class dental services.”
The company, which operates 76 dental practices including in Frome, Marlborough, and Bath, plans to invest in AI-driven diagnostic tools and 3D intra-oral scanning technology through the funding.
These technologies aim to make dental visits faster, more accurate and less invasive, improving the overall patient experience.
Founded in 2014 by Mr Turton and Nick Lowcock, Gensmile combines the independence of locally managed dental practices with the financial and business support of a larger organisation.
Gensmile’s long-term vision includes upgrading clinics with state-of-the-art equipment, running oral health workshops and sponsoring community events.
Its largest practices will be developed into centres of excellence, offering advanced care in areas such as endodontics and periodontics, as well as practical training for the next generation of dental professionals.
Stuart Allison, relationship director at NatWest, said: “Gensmile’s commitment to clinical excellence and community benefit aligns with NatWest’s ambition to champion potential and support healthcare innovation.
“By investing in digital dentistry and local training, Gensmile is helping to build financial confidence and better health outcomes for communities across the South West.”
The group also operates its own training academy and apprenticeship programmes, offering career development for dental nurses and encouraging job growth within local communities.
Gensmile said the latest investment will also support its broader community activities, which include sponsoring events and offering educational workshops in oral health.
