Generous people have responded in large numbers to Leeds Baby Bank’s urgent appeal for prams.
The Armley-based charity, which works to make sure no child goes without because they are born into a family experiencing poverty, says the response has been wonderful.
Sarah Cohen, from Leeds Baby Bank, said: “Thanks to supporters all over our city, we have received lots of prams! So many, in fact, that we have been able to give a pram to every family who has a newborn or a baby due soon and needs a pram but is unable to afford one.”

The prams are still being received and are being cleaned by the team of volunteers. All families receiving a pram, or any items from Leeds Baby Bank, have been referred by health or social care professionals as living in poverty.
“This isn’t just a nice-to-have, added Sarah. “Prams help families get out and about, attend appointments for the health of mum and baby, get exercise and fresh air and – crucially – help end isolation. Thank you from all the families we’ve been able to help.
“Now we wonder if the people of Leeds might have a highchair or two they no longer need!”
