And those years in green and white earned the Polish stopper a lifetime of adoration with Celtic fans.
He even turned down huge interest in his time in Glasgow, revealing years later: “I had Manchester City, Arsenal and Spurs after me and I remember speaking to Arsene Wenger on the phone.
“But it was just before the World Cup and I was desperate to play for Poland at the finals and I couldn’t be sure I would be first choice goalkeeper at any of those clubs.

And Boruc enjoyed celebrating the Hoops massive victory in Glasgow’s City Centre, even posing for a picture outside a pub.
One bar shared a snap of the Hoops’ former goalie enjoying his afternoon saying: “Great to have the Holy Goalie Artur Boruc pop by earlier today after the game.”
That was Connolly’s Irish Bar on Bell Street in the city‘s Merchant City area, a pub popular with Hoops fans.
And there was plenty of Celts out in force enjoying celebrating the monumental victory.
The three points helped move the Celts to within one point of Hearts at the top of the table.
Hearts let the Hoops get so close after dropping points to Motherwell on Saturday evening.
And now Celtic need to travel to Motherwell and avoid defeat, as if they lose and Hearts win on Wednesday night, Hearts will be champions.
But it looks like it might comes down to a final day shootout, with Celtic and Hearts facing off on Saturday, and depending on midweek results, it could well be a winner takes all match.
There could yet be time for another twist in this seasons tale, as Hearts have led the way for most of the season, and Celtic could nip in and take the title from right under their noses.
