Tributes have been paid to a “loving” and “proud” dad who died in a car crash. Corey Wright, 34, has been named as the driver of a car who died in a collision in Tredegar in the early hours of Wednesday, May 6.
Officers were called to the scene of a one-vehicle crash at the top of Birch Lane, near Derlwyn Farm, at around 5.35am. Mr Wright, a dad-of-three, was pronounced dead the scene.
Paying tribute to him, his family said he was a “loving partner and proud father”. They said he was “loved by everyone who knew him” and had a personality that “lit up every room”.

The tribute reads: “Corey was a loving partner and a proud father to three children. He was a true family man who adored his family and worked incredibly hard to provide for, and support, the people he loved most. His family meant everything to him, and he was immensely proud of them.
“Corey was loved by everyone who knew him. He had a kind heart and would do anything to help anyone in need.
“He had an infectious laugh and a personality that truly lit up every room he walked into. His warmth, humour and caring nature left a lasting impression on so many people.
“Corey loved spending time with his children, especially going out on the quad bikes and making memories together. He also enjoyed holidays abroad and being surrounded by friends and family. From a young age, Corey was sociable, caring and full of life.
“He will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who had the privilege of knowing him.”
Mr Wright’s family continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
