Adoption is lagging. Only 41% of nurses use AI for work, compared with 57% of doctors.
Clinical-specific AI tool use is lower too. Among clinicians who use AI, 30% of nurses use a clinical-specific tool frequently or always, versus 37% of doctors.
Nurses are using generalist AI for important tasks. The top tasks are professional education and upskilling, patient education and medical research, but the lack of dedicated tools means nurses are using generic LLMs.
