The marathon drew over 4,000 participants, with 10 Harriers taking on the 26.2-mile course.

Geoff Howard set a new MV80 club record with a time of 4.37.29.

Gawain Moore finished 16th overall and third M40 with a time of 2.45.48, and Rachel Carter was second F50 with a time of 3.36.25.

The Harriers also had nine runners in the Leeds Half Marathon.

Jack Cummings finished second overall with a time of 1.09.35, and Jane McCarthy was second F50 with a time of 1.34.25.

Earlier in the week, 19 Harriers took part in the Dick Hudson’s Fell Race across Ilkley Moor and back.

Oli Murphy was the first finisher, followed by Harry Brook-Dobson in third, Forrest Hamilton in fifth, and Dan McKeown in sixth and first MV40.

In the age categories, Matthew Kennedy took first MV50 and Bob Hamilton first MV70.

John Hayes was second MV50, David Rees third MV40, Adrian Hall third MV50, and Becky Taylor third LV50.

The Harriers also participated in the Ripon 10-Mile race.

Matt Newell claimed fifth place with a time of 1.01.18, followed by Jaysson Sawyer in ninth and third M40 with a time of 1.05.44, and Steve Newell third M60 with a time of 1.14.25.

They also won the second team prize for the Harriers.

In the Fairfield Horseshoe Fell Race, Alison Weston claimed first in the F60-69 category with a time of 2.12.54.

Kelly Wilby was tenth in the F40-49 category with a time of 2.41.33, and Nea Weston was 12th in the F23-39 category with a time of 2.12.16.

Dave Robson took third MV50 in the Yorkshire Veterans Athletics Association Grand Prix Series 2026 Race 1, with a time of 44.29.

George Whittlestone won the OU21 category in the Coiners Fell Races with a time of 57.05.

In the juniors races, Isobel Moore was 11th in the U12 Girls Race, Michael Moore fourth in the U14 Boys Race, and Ollie Holder fifth in the U18 Race.

Ruth Kitchen secured fifth female and third in the Senior (20-34) category in the Alderley Edge 10k with a time of 37.49.

In the Howgills Fell Race, Oscar Shinn was seventh in the U20 Race with a time of 43.11, and George Whittlestone was 11th with a time of 48.22.

Joseph Bentham was 13th in the U18 Race with a time of 40.46, and Olly Brooks was 34th in the U14 Race with a time of 32.41.

Junior Harrier Heather Crolla was named Yorkshire U16 Girls Discus Champion in the Yorkshire County Track and Field Championships, with a personal best throw of 25.34m.

The Harriers also participated in various 5k parkruns.

Matthew Thackwray was first at The Cinder Track with a time of 15.37, and Samesh Chotai was first at Brueton with a time of 16.16.

Sarah Marsden was fourth female at Fleetwood Promenade with a time of 23.47.

Sisters Nura and Mariam Allen both ran Lister Park, with Nura finishing fifth female with a time of 23.48 and Mariam eighth female with a personal best time of 24.47.

At Cliffe Castle, Joseph Morris was seventh and first JM11-14 with a personal best time of 23.22.

At Myrtle, Heidi Hoad was seventh female with a time of 27.04, Lucy Lowe eighth female with a time of 27.05, and Daisy Lowe ninth female and first JW11-14 with a time of 27.47.

Rob and Nicola Budding both ran Armley, securing tenth male with a time of 22.05 and tenth female with a time of 26.00.

Daniel Paterson achieved a personal best time of 22.48 at Bramley.

Finally, at Ilkley’s own East Holmes Field, John Hayes was sixth with a time of 20.41, followed by personal best times from Jacqui Foster with 26.56, Dawn Turner with 28.22, and Ruth Jones with 33.42.
