Police were called by the ambulance service at 10.37pm on May 11 to reports a woman had been stabbed in Huddersfield.

The victim, who was found on Topaz Lane, had suffered serious injuries to her leg and head.

She was taken to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

Police believe the woman was attacked in the street by two suspects who then made off on an e-bike.

The incident is believed to be targeted.

Enquiries remain ongoing.

Detective Inspector Sarah Bradley of Kirklees CID said: “This is a very serious incident where a woman has suffered serious injuries.

“Extensive enquiries are ongoing this morning including house to house and CCTV.

“Whilst the investigation is at an early stage, we believe this incident was targeted and there is no wider threat to the public.

“I would encourage anyone who witnessed the incident or who saw the suspects on an e-bike prior to the stabbing to come forward with information.  

“We are working with our local neighbourhood policing team to provide reassurance.”
