Manchester United are exploring an unexpected swoop for Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde. The Uruguayan midfielder has been sidelined in the Spanish capital after a training ground clash with teammate Aurelien Tchouameni.
The altercation left Valverde needing hospital treatment for concussion, sidelining him for the remainder of the season. The Real vice-captain was forced to issue a public statement and offered an apologetic response.
However, it is believed that club officials remain incensed with the midfielder and will seek to sell him this summer. Making matters worse, influential figures within the Real dressing room have backed Tchouameni and are advocating for Valverde’s departure before next season.
