Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly clashing over their summer plans as he continues pushing for a family reunion in Scotland, which insiders say Markle still feels deeply uncomfortable about. According to sources, the couple plans to spend more than a month in Europe this summer, using their recently completed Portugal villa as a home base while traveling between private events and family commitments. The trip will reportedly begin soon after Prince Archie, 6, and Princess Lilibet, 4, finish school in June.

Insiders revealed to Closer that Prince Harry has become more determined to arrange a stay at Balmoral Castle, the royal family’s longtime retreat in Scotland, because he hopes to repair broken relationships within the monarchy. However, Meghan Markle may not seem to be on the same boat as her husband.
Sources claim Harry believes the quiet royal estate could create the right setting for a private meeting with his father, King Charles III, and possibly help the family move toward reconciliation. “Harry is pushing hard for a family stay at Balmoral this summer while he and Meghan are based in Europe, with hopes of arranging a private meeting with King Charles,” a source claimed.
The insider added that Harry especially wants his children to spend meaningful time with their grandfather while the family remains based in Europe for the summer. “Harry genuinely believes Balmoral could be the place where things finally start healing,” the insider said.
Sources say security concerns remain one of the biggest sticking points between the couple, especially after Harry lost taxpayer-funded protection when he stepped down as a senior working royal in 2020. “Meghan still doesn’t feel fully comfortable in Britain,” the insider claimed. “That hasn’t changed. The security concerns are very real to her, especially with the children involved. The situation is said to be causing strain between the couple.”
The Duchess of Sussex has reportedly not returned to Britain since attending Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in 2022.
