The form

Chelsea have won five of our last six matches, scoring 15 goals in the process. The Blues’ league form has seen us put four goals past each of Aston Villa and Everton, and we netted three away from home against Leicester City last time out.

Manchester United have won two, drawn two and lost two of their last six matches, including an exit the Women’s Champions League at the hands of Bayern Munich at the beginning of April.

They have played two Women’s Super League matches since then, recording a goalless draw away at Tottenham and a 1-1 stalemate at home to Brighton and Hove Albion.

Recent head-to-head

The Blues are unbeaten in our three meetings with Manchester United this season. We claimed a 1-1 draw and a point from our away league fixture against the Red Devils in early October, before facing them later in the season in the FA Cup fifth round.

That game went to extra time after Sam Kerr‘s opener at Kingsmeadow was cancelled out, but the Blues progressed to the quarter-finals after Naomi Girma struck from close range.

An international break separated our next meeting with United, which came in the League Cup final at Aston Gate. Sonia Bompastor‘s side came away with victory and silverware from that clash in Bristol, as goals from Lauren James and Aggie Beever-Jones ensured the Blues retained the trophy.
