The Princess of Wales has begun her first overseas visit since her cancer diagnosis—and she chose a suit by a Canadian-British designer for her first day of engagements. Kate arrived in the Italian city of Reggio Emilia at 1:15 p.m. today wearing a pale blue trouser suit by designer Edeline Lee.
Described as emphasizing “precision cut. Hand-made details, and femininity of form,” Edeline Lee is a Canadian-British designer based in London. She graduated from Central Saint Martins and launched her label in 2014. Kate has worn her designs previously, including in February this year for an audience with the Archbishop of Canterbury.

The Princess of Wales visits the Piazza Camillo Prampolini.
The Princess of Wales met by cheering crowds in Reggio Emilia today in the city’s Piazza Camillo Prampolini. She bent down to talk to school children and hugged one fan on arrival before waving to the crowds and going into the Town Hall.
An aide yesterday described this visit as a “huge moment” for the Princess. “Although there will be many highlights of 2026 I think this being her first official international visit, post her recovery, I think this is a really significant moment for her,” the aide said…”[This visit] is an important step in the Princess’s recovery journey. She takes great joy from this work. I think it’s only right that her first international trip since her illness is one that is focussed on an issue that she is committed to championing for decades to come.”
The Princess has not traveled overseas for work since October 2023 when she went to Marseille to support the England rugby team in her role as Patron of the RFU. Her last tour was to the U.S. in late 2022 for Prince William’s Earthshot Prize.
