Police arrested two men this morning

Two men were arrested and £9,000 in cash was seized after a police swoop on one of south Manchester’s busiest roads.
Bundles of cash and a number of deposit slips were found when officers stopped the car on the Princess Parkway in Baguley, Wythenshawe, this morning (May 13, 2026).
Two men, aged 28 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of money laundering and remain in custody for questioning.

It followed a patrol by GMP’s South Manchester neighbourhood team in which they were aiming to detain any people who were wanted by the force.
Cops spotted a vehicle linked by intelligence to drug dealing and stopped it, finding the cash and a number of ‘deposit slips’ on board.
Inspector Mangnall, of GMP’s City of Manchester South division, said: “This is an excellent example of proactive policing, resulting in a large amount of cash being seized and two people being arrested. These arrests demonstrate the importance of tackling money laundering in our communities.
