Red Bull’s sponsorship and minority investment at Leeds United could foster some strategic benefits for the 49ers this summer.

The 49ers’ ownership of Leeds since 2023 has seen the club become a commercial powerhouse once again. Included in that was the significant announcement of Red Bull becoming minority investors during our time in the Championship.

Our partnership with the energy drinks giants obviously lends itself to the discussion of Leeds tapping into the vast scouting network and multi-club links that Red Bull have to offer.

RB Leipzig reportedly set for summer transfer window fire sale as Leeds United watch on

Away from Elland Road, arguably Red Bull’s most successful football venture RB Leipzig are looking at hard times this summer.

According to German outlet Bild, the Bundesliga club are in need of generating €113million through player sales in spite of qualifying for the Champions League.

The report also outlines potential candidates for an exit. There is optimism that star teenage winger Yan Diomande will be retained for another season.

Although, Castello Lukeba, Arthur Vermeeren (on loan at Marseille), Lutsharel Geertruida (on loan at Sunderland) and Eljif Elmas (on loan at Napoli) are earmarked as likely permanent exits.

Leeds United must consider Red Bull transfer connection with RB Leipzig opportunity

Given our Red Bull links, it’s worth speculating if there are any players from their clubs that would be a good signing for Leeds this summer.

With their need to recoup some funds this summer, Leeds might have a few bargains to explore.

Xaver Schlager is out of contract this summer and reportedly not keen on renewing. RB Leipzig may see his expiring contract as a means to cut costs further.

A deep-lying midfielder Schalger could act as an alternative to the ruled-out Hidemasa Morita, serving as an upgrade on Ilia Gruev.

Elmas, 26, could be another versatile option to add to our attacking midfield contingent, while boasting a serious set-piece delivery too.

Attacking midfielder Christoph Baumgartner’s output this season has been exceptional too. He’s scored 17 and assisting nine in all competitions.
