Speculation around Bruno Fernandes and the Saudi Pro League is refusing to go away ahead of the summer transfer window.

Since joining Manchester United in 2020, Bruno Fernandes has become the face of the team and the club captain.

This season, Fernandes has broken records with United despite the team’s underwhelming Premier League campaign.

It has been a frustrating season for all involved, and Fernandes’ frustration boiled over against West Ham on the weekend.

Fernandes is focused on winning the Europa League, but if United fall short in Bilbao then it will be another season where the world-class Portuguese midfielder has missed out on silverware.

Earlier this season, Real Madrid were showing interest in Fernandes but those rumours were quickly shot down by Ruben Amorim.

Now it seems the Saudi Pro League are eager to sign United’s talisman with Al-Hilal making Fernandes a top target.

Amorim is desperate to keep Fernandes this summer, and United’s captain has not shown any signs of wanting to leave. But fresh reports suggest there will be a transfer meeting over his future this week.

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Al-Hilal are still in contact with Fernandes’ camp and he will be given one week to decide his future.

Fernandes has already rejected Saudi offers to leave United last year, and Jacobs claims that the United midfielder told Al-Hilal that he wants to stay at United until at least after the 2026 World Cup.

What Al-Hilal are willing to offer Bruno Fernandes

It seems Fernandes is eager to stay at Old Trafford for at least another year, but the money on offer from Al-Hilal is hard for anyone to reject.

Ahead of the summer, Al-Hilal have set aside over £500 million to sign marquee players this summer.

Al-Hilal wanted Mohamed Salah before Fernandes, but now that the Egyptian has signed a new contract with Liverpool their attention has turned to the United captain.

There will be a three-year offer on the table with Al-Hilal offering Fernandes £195 million over that time period – equivalent to £65m per year or £1.25m per week.

Ultimately it will be up to United if Fernandes is sold as he has a contract valid until 2027, but if a British record bid is made then Ineos would also find it difficult to turn down.
