The demolition of an “eyesore flats complex” has been completed as part of a project to build dozens of new affordable council homes.

Leeds City Council began knocking down the eight apartment blocks that make up Kingsdale Court, in Boggart Hill, Seacroft, in October.

The council has now released details of plans to build 20 new houses, as well as two apartment blocks with a total of 59 flats, on the site.

Mary Harland, the authority’s executive member for housing, said: “The plans for the former Kingsdale Court site are a great example of our commitment to providing good-quality, energy efficient and affordable council housing in communities across the city.”
