One of Bristol’s City Farms will see the return of an ever-popular event in its summer calendar next month.

The St Werburghs City Farm Summer Fair will return on Saturday, June 6, bringing thousands to the farm and its surrounding areas for what is described as a ‘mini festival’.

Dubbed the farm’s ‘biggest fundraising event of the year’, the Summer Fair has now become a staple in the city’s calendar for many. For just one day each year, it sees the farm and its surrounding areas transformed, with three stages, multiple stalls, and roaming performances – all of these popping up between the main farm site, The Farm pub and Boiling Wells woodland.

The day is packed with food and family activities, with the aim of showcasing local performers, makers and storytellers and ‘celebrating local community, creativity and culture’.

All proceeds from the event go back into the Farm’s work.

The first wave of this year’s line-up has been announced, and includes:

  • Dr Meaker (DJ set)
  • Golden Guild
  • Kidachrome
  • Bristol Samba
  • Rachael Dadd & The Oak Choir
  • Hosted by Edson and DJ Dad

More acts are set to be announced in the coming weeks. Here’s more need to know information if you’re planning to attend this year’s event:

Tickets

You can buy tickets now via HeadFirst using this link. Each ticket is a ‘pay-what-you-can’, meaning you can select how much you wish to spend on your ticket, starting from £5. There is also a checkbox to select an optional donation, of £1, £3, £5 or a custom amount.

Tickets will also be available to purchase on the door on the day of the event.

Organisers say that mobile signal can be patchy, so bringing cash is a good idea for stalls and other areas where you may wish to buy something.
