The leadership of a Forest care home “requires improvement” according to Care Quality Commission inspectors.
Following a two-week site visit in January and February, inspectors rated the safety, care, responsiveness, and effectiveness of Woodside Lodge in Burley Road, Branagore, as “good”.

But in terms of leadership, they found the home’s management is still “inconsistent”.
A report stated: “The service was previously in breach of the regulation in relation to good governance.
“Although we found improvements, some shortfalls remained, and the provider remained in breach of this regulation.
“The provider had not yet embedded robust systems and processes to consistently, effectively assess, monitor and improve quality and safety.”
Inspectors said there had been “significant improvements” since the last inspection, but there are still areas of concern that had not been not addressed in a “timely manner”, including creating secure outside spaces for service users.
Inspectors observed “kind interactions” between service users and staff, and found people and their families gave “mostly positive” feedback about the home.
Staff at the home also receive regular training and work with people and their healthcare partners to establish “safe systems of care”.
They were also said to “care about and promote” the wellbeing of service users, including helping them plan for “important life changes”.
