Besiktas are reportedly primed to make an offer for Nottingham Forest midfielder Ibrahim Sangare.

The 28-year-old has been a key player for the Reds this term. He is currently sidelined with injury and has missed the last four games for Vitor Pereira’s side.

Sangare has been linked with a move away from the City Ground before. And ahead of what is set to be a big summer for Forest, he is said to have admirers once again.

According to Turkish publication Takvim, Besiktas have made the Reds ace a top target for the upcoming transfer window. Former Leicester City man Wilfred Ndidi is likely to leave the Turkish outfit at the end of the season and Sangare has been identified as a potential replacement.

It is claimed Besiktas’ hierarchy have “made initial contact” with the player’s agent. The club are expected to follow that up by contacting Forest in the summer and make an offer for the Ivory Coast international.

Although Besiktas are prepared to “push hard” for Sangare’s signature, there is a notable stumbling block. A deal is said to be “unlikely to happen” due to the expected fee required to tempt the Reds to sell.

Sangare put pen to paper Trentside in the summer of 2023 in a £30 million switch from PSV Eindhoven. He is under contract until 2028.

For various reasons, it took the midfielder time to find his feet in the Garibaldi and in English football. This season, however, he has really shown what he is about and has developed into an integral member of the team.

The centre of the pitch is an area where the Reds will almost certainly need to assess their options as they plan for another campaign of Premier League football. Elliot Anderson is likely to depart, while Nicolas Dominguez has also been attracting interest from elsewhere.

Manchester City are believed to be leading the chase for Anderson but Manchester United are also particularly keen. The England international is a wanted man, though, and TEAMtalk have now suggested Liverpool have him on their target list.

There was speculation about Sangare’s future during the winter transfer window. Galatasaray were said to be eyeing him up at the time.
