Yuel Helafu is still buzzing after joining United’s training camp in the Republic of Ireland, so he is riding the crest of a wave heading into the FA Youth Cup final tonight.
“Joshua Zirkzee is very good with me, always very welcoming, very funny,” said right back Helafu of training with the first-team. “Lisandro Martinez as well, because obviously he’s a defender, so he gives me tips.
“I’m not the biggest, he gives me different tips to, you know, to use when you’re marking someone bigger, someone with a physical advantage. But everyone’s top, everyone’s very funny, very welcoming.”
Helafu started the move that led to JJ Gabriel breaking the deadlock in the Youth Cup semi-final against Crystal Palace. Gabriel has stolen the headlines this season, but you cannot reach a Youth Cup final without a talented team. Rafe McCormack is another important member of the U18 side who will try to end the season by winning the most coveted trophy in academy football.
