Golf legend Sir Nick Faldo has been captured singing the praises of the Highland capital during a Scottish holiday.
A capture from Sir Nick Faldo’s video taken at the Gathering Place on the River Ness.
The six times major winner waxed lyrical about Inverness as he swung around taking a selfie video while standing on Highland Council’s controversial Gathering Place Ness River artwork.
Faldo, who won all three of his Open Championships on Scottish soil – two at Muirfield Golf Links in Gullane and one on St Andrew’s Old Course – has never hidden his love of the country.
But he seemed completely blown away by the Ness Islands scenery around him as he recorded footage posted earlier today on his Facebook account.
It was unclear as to whether some of Faldo’s exuberance was down to the nature of his visit to the area.
Faldo, now a popular TV commentator on golf, tells viewers he is on a whisky tasting trip and raves about the “gorgeous” setting and light around him.
The 68-year-old – who also captured three green jackets with Masters titles among 43 professional tour triumphs – says: “On our travels up here in Bonnie Scotland. How fabulous is this?
“Anybody recognise this river? And this town in the distance? The fisherman will know.

“I’m on a bit of a Scotch whisky tasting trip and we’ll be doing that tomorrow and then I’ll be heading down to St Andrew’s for a spot of golf, so I’ll tell you more. I’ll make another movie.”
While panning his mobile phone camera around, he then exclaims: “How cool is that? Isn’t that gorgeous?
“Look at that light. Nothing like Scottish light, is there, in the evening. Gorgeous.”

It is not yet known whether Faldo sampled any of the many first class golf courses in the local area or wider Highlands.
Or indeed if he was tempted for a quick round on the extremely challenging nearby Inverness Crazy Golf course at Bught Road.
