Daniel Farke has done an absolutely incredible job with Leeds United this season. He’s guided us to safety in the Premier League with games to spare. That’s as well as leading us out at Wembley for an FA Cup semi-final.
Many had their doubts regarding the German manager before a ball was kicked last summer. There was intense speculation around Daniel Farke and his future at Leeds, despite getting United promoted.
But after previously failing in the top-flight on two occasions with Norwich City, Farke proved the doubters wrong. And, he has comfortably avoided immediate relegation back to the Championship.
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke left off the Premier League manager of the season shortlist
This makes it all the more puzzling as to why Farke has been brutally snubbed by the Premier League when it comes to their nominees for manager of the season.
Today, the Premier League revealed the six nominees for the manager of the season award.
To my surprise, as well as many other United supporters, Farke was left off this list despite defying all expectations with Leeds this season.

Not only has Farke kept us in the Premier League, but he also did so in a manner no one expected. He’s shown real growth as a manager by being flexible and ditching his favoured 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 formations for a 5-3-2.
The six managers ahead of Farke on the shortlist are: Brentford’s Keith Andrews, Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, Bournemouth’s Andoni Iraola, Sunderland’s Regis Le Bris and Manchester United’s Michael Carrick.
For us as Leeds supporters, Farke being snubbed for the award does not change the way we feel about him and the incredible job he has done this season. But, it would’ve been nice for him to receive some acknowledgement for the fine job he has done.
Some of the nominees ahead of Daniel Farke are simply a disgrace
Surely no one will have any arguments about Andrews, Le Bris, and Iraola’s nominations. But, others are certainly questionable.
Arteta and Guardiola are both still going head-to-head for the title. And, whoever finishes second out of those two certainly does not deserve to be a manager of the season nominee. Considering the money they’ve both spent, it’d be failure.
As much as it pains me to say, Carrick’s done a decent job to get Man Utd back in the Champions League. But, it could hardly get any worse than it was under Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese manager left midway through the season.
Again, Carrick has gotten a tune out of his side. However, they have quality players at their disposal like Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Matheus Cunha. So, finishing in the Champions League spots is to be expected from them.
On a lower budget, Farke has managed to exceed expectations, whilst the three aforementioned nominees have simply met expectations or are about to fall short of meeting their expectations. All while having a monstrous budget to play with.
