Bristol City has been awarded Gold in the Family Excellence Award by the English Football League for the second successive season.
Having secured silver in 2023/24, the club has since maintained the top award.
It was noted City excelled in the family experience across the stadium – something the club has worked hard to ensure with its entertainments and new initiatives alongside the appointment of a new Fan Engagement Manager.
With dedicated pre-match entertainment for younger supporters alongside ‘Family Day’ at Ashton Gate, the club are committed to providing a matchday that caters to all ages and demographics.
The club also scored highly in the social media, refreshments and travel categories, highlighting the importance of a multi-pronged approach to matchdays at Ashton Gate.
This season 22 clubs received gold status with City ranked ninth in the EFL and third in the Sky Bet Championship.
During this campaign, City launched a multi-faith room and a host of junior reds activities, including a new Junior Reds matchday passport.
Michelle Dring, Head of Strategy, said: “We’re proud to see the collective efforts of our staff, supporters and stakeholders recognised.
“This award reflects our continued commitment to creating the best possible experience for all fans attending Ashton Gate.”
Created in 2007, the EFL’s Family Excellence Scheme assesses the family experience Clubs provide, and rewards them with gold, silver and bronze status for the quality of their match experience across a range of touchpoints including ticket purchase, matchday entertainment, accessibility, facilities and communications.
