Seattle’s Best Coffee has opened a fully branded café at the University of Birmingham in partnership with Food Fellows.

The outlet is part of the company’s expansion into higher education settings and adds another coffee option on a campus serving around 40,000 students and 10,000 staff.

The move aligns with internal research from Nestlé Professional’s 2025 Behind the Beans: Coffee on Campus, Colleges & Universities Report, which found that 94% of UK students regularly purchase coffee on campus and 96% say having a varied menu influences their choice of where to buy.

The café offers the full Seattle’s Best Coffee range, including hot and iced drinks, collagen coffee, and Aero hot chocolate.

The company points to the same research showing shifting preferences amongst students: 37% express interest in iced coffee, 34% in speciality hot chocolate, and 28% in functional coffee options such as those with protein, collagen, or added vitamins.

The University of Birmingham site is part of Seattle’s Best Coffee’s broader rollout in the UK across education, workplace, healthcare, and high street locations under Nestlé Professional.
