With their Premier League status already guaranteed Leeds United can forge ahead in their planning for another top flight season.
At the very least Daniel Farke will look to strengthen his goalkeeping department with Karl Darlow and Illan Meslier both out of contract – albeit the current No. 1 could remain at Elland Road.
Elsewhere Leeds will look to add quality and depth to Farke’s squad and the rumour mill is already up and running.
Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news and gossip.
Minutes man
Fringe full back Sam Byram is out of contract in the summer and seems resigned to the fact his time back at Elland Road is coming to an end.
Speaking on the official Leeds United podcast he was asked about his future and said: “Yeah, I think get the job done here. You know, I’m confident that, you know, we’ll see that out. And then for me, you know, I still think I’ve got a few years ahead playing football.
“I’d like to play regularly if I can. It’s something off the back of before coming here, I had a lot of years on the sideline with injuries. So I think for me to get myself in a position where it’s the best I’ve felt physically, I think that’s something I really want to fulfil, play as much as I can.”
Open-da for business
According to TEAMtalk Coventry City have shown concrete interest in Lois Openda, who is currently on loan at Juventus from RB Leipzig.
The 26-year-old, who came through at Club Brugge, has had a disappointing campaign in Turin – although it is claimed Juve still have an obligation to buy for €40.6m.
The report claims the Sky Blues made ‘initial contact’ but that Leeds United appear to be hot favourites to sign the striker who had scored 41 times in 93 games since signing a five-year contract from Lens in the summer of 2023. The report says Leeds ‘lead the race’.

The Whites have been credited with an interest in Leicester City teenager Jeremy Monga.
However, The Talent Hunter claims United are not currently interested in the 16-year-old, while Arsenal are currently the favourites to sign him from the relegated Foxes.
Monga, who has also been linked with Manchester City and United has already made 37 first-team appearances for Leicester.
Kofi keen
Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Dynamo Dresden’s Kofi Amoako.
That’s according to journalist Sébastien Vidal who says Leeds have scouted the 21-year-old and that he is keen to move to the Premier League this summer.
Dresden signed Amoako from VfL Wolsburg just 12 months ago since when he has been called up to the German Under-21 squad having made 31 appearances in all competitions for a team promoted to the German second tier at the end of last season.
