Chopstix are bringing their latest location to the famous “Four Corners”, where it will occupy the space left vacant by Pizza Hut, which closed last year. The opening will mark the company’s fifth restaurant in Glasgow, following the launch of two other locations in the city centre alone.
The new spot will be dishing out Chopstix’s classic rice and noodle meals with Chinese-inspired toppings served in a convenient “build-your-own” box format. It could become one of the largest fast food restaurants in the city, with realtors confirming that Chopstix have signed a lease for all five floors of the site, totalling just under 6000 square feet.
The group behind the new opening added that they plan to upgrade the building by replacing its 1960s cladding with the hope that it will “reinforce its long-term appeal within the city centre”.
Stuart Moncur, head of national retail at Savills, a property firm involved in brokering the deal, said: “This is the third Chopstix restaurant in Glasgow city centre and adds to the growth of Argyle Street as a leisure destination.
“The city has a large catchment population and a diverse demographic, including a strong student population, making it an ideal location for food and beverage operators.”
Sam Shaw, head of property at Chopstix, added: “The Argyle Street location benefits from a massive catchment area and a vibrant, diverse demographic that aligns perfectly with our brand.
“We’ve seen incredible demand at Sauchiehall Street and St Enoch Square, and we can’t wait to open our doors on the ‘Four Corners’ to serve even more of the city’s residents, students and visitors.”
