So far the 5.15pm Glasgow Queen Street to Edinburgh service, due into the capital at 6.06pm, has been cancelled, with further changes possible as the incident continues to impact the line.

The disruption comes as Hearts supporters make their way back to Edinburgh following today’s title‑deciding clash with Celtic at Parkhead, with many expected to be using the Falkirk High route.

In an update on social media, ScotRail said: “Due to a passenger being taken ill on a train at Falkirk High the line towards Glasgow is blocked. Train services between Glasgow Queen Street and Edinburgh via Falkirk High may be cancelled, delayed or revised. Please use our app and website for service information.”
