Amazfit’s T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch is receiving the v3.8.0.5 update
Amazfit’s firmware version 4.8.3.5 is currently rolling out to users of the T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch. Included in this release are a heart-rate related tool, new workout metrics and optimizations for the VO2 Max algorithm.
The Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch is receiving a new update. Firmware version 4.8.3.5 has arrived a few weeks after the last release, firmware 4.7.3.1, which added segment-based equivalent pace data and support for third-party rowing machines.
Users of Amazfit’s T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch can now view their heart rate zone mid-workout, as reported by melianmiko. To turn this on, go to Workout > Workout Settings > Data Pages > Heart Rate Zone. The version 4.8.3.5 update also brings three new workout related metrics to the wearable – remaining distance, remaining ascent, and remaining descent. These are each calculated to both the next waypoint and the final destination.
This release for the T-Rex Ultra 2 is said to optimize the sensitivity of turn-by-turn reminders as well as the text associated with route navigation. The track page interaction during workouts has been improved, with the visual effects on this page during a workout. On top of this, Amazfit enhanced the accuracy of the VO2 Max algorithm.
Firmware version 4.8.3.5 is rolling out in phases to users of the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 smartwatch (curr. $549.99 at Amazon). When it has been released in your region, you will be able to trigger the installation process via the Zepp app on your smartphone.
