Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has backed Danny Rohl as gaffer and insists he IS the man to make them champions again.
The Ibrox gaffer is under pressure from fans after his side finished third in the Scottish Premiership and ended the campaign without a trophy.
Rohl was appointed in October as Russell Martin’s successor and managed to get his side back into the title race.
But their bid for the league flag fell apart after the split, allowing Old Firm rivals Celtic to clinch five-in-a-row on Saturday with victory over second-placed Hearts.
The German is under-fire from disgruntled supporters but American owner Cavenagh is adamant he WON’T be sacked.
He says Rohl will be in charge next term and he’s confident that – with new leaders in their squad – he can make Gers champions again.
Cavenagh said: “As we look to next year, Danny is our coach. We believe that Danny gives us the best chance to win the league next year.
“There are two key elements that he needs to succeed. That would be a revamped squad, which is probably the most important – and a pre-season.

“We look at our squad and say we have a bunch of good players. We have a good squad, and we’ve proven that in fits and spurts throughout the season.
“But we don’t yet have a good team. And that is our focus this summer, building a winning team.
“Our focus will be less about raw talent and more about things like chemistry, leadership, steel and footballing IQ. We are excited to make those adjustments to the squad.
“We think Danny is a really good coach. We’ve seen that throughout the year. He’s not perfect. But when you think about what it takes to win, we think the most important change we need to make is the squad.
“And with an improved squad, we think Danny will bring titles. We recognise that supporting any club, but certainly Rangers, is an emotional roller-coaster.
“A month ago, the fans were singing Danny’s name and a month later, they’re frustrated with Danny.
“We completely understand that view on a personal level. We go through that same roller-coaster.
“But our job, as those who run this club, is to not let it go on that roller-coaster ride.
“We need to be even-keeled and ensure that, step by step – and it’s not always a straight line – we move this club towards success. We believe that Dan is part of that.”

Cavenagh has been at Ibrox less than a year after his takeover with 49ers Enterprises.
He vowed to get Rangers winning again and accepts that this season has been nowhere near good enough on that front.
But he’s adamant that he won’t stop until there are trophies in the Ibrox cabinet.
Cavenagh said: “It has been a rough season. We’re incredibly disappointed with the results, as you would expect.
“Responsibility for that is with no-one other than the ownership, the board, myself and Paraag Marathe. In a good organisation, a strong organisation, the blame goes up, not down.
“And when we look at where we’re going from here, it’s crystal clear to us. At this club, success is winning titles. You don’t win a title, you haven’t succeeded. And it can’t be any simpler than that.
“We will not stop until we have succeeded. We didn’t succeed but we intend to succeed. Our job is to take the club forward and find that success.”
