A witness at the scene says two ambulances have left the scene “with a police escort”, Manchester Evening News reports.
“The police have stopped all access for cars and pedestrians,” the witness said. “The two ambulances have left the scene now however they left with a police escort which leads me to believe it to be a more serious incident.
“The road is closed from the Travelodge on Great Ducie Street, down to one lane on Trinity Way and no access at all heading from city centre.”
