Reports have emerged that U.S. President Donald Trump once toured a Boeing 748 owned by the Qatar Royal Family earlier this year after many delays for the brand-new presidential airplane. According to the report, the president met the plane in Palm Springs, Florida.
The plane was a 12-year-old model that had previously served the Qatar royal family and then was operated by a company in the Isle of Man, according to two aviation websites. Trump’s Communications Director Steven Cheung, was quick to issue a statement about it.
“President Trump is touring a new Boeing plane to check out the new hardware/technology,” he said. “This highlights the project’s failure to deliver a new Air Force One on time as promised.” During his previous administration, Trump had commissioned Boeing for a pair of new 747-8 aircraft; however, the project is several years behind schedule. It comes as Trump sparks ‘mind decay’ fears as he attempts to take credit for a new ‘word’.

It was reported that, according to Boeing, the two aircraft were expected to be delivered in December 2024. Now, the airline company is saying that the project won’t be completed until 2027 or 2028, toward the end of Trump’s final term in office.
The news comes as Trump has been slammed for allegedly accepting a $400 million jet from the ruling family of Qatar during his trip to the Middle East this coming week. Trump later took to his Truth Social platform to slam the naysayers.

“So the fact that the Defense Department is getting a GIFT, FREE OF CHARGE, of a 747 aircraft to replace the 40-year-old Air Force One, temporarily, in a very public and transparent transaction, so bothers the Crooked Democrats that they insist we pay, TOP DOLLAR, for the plane. Anybody can do that! The Dems are World Class Losers!!! MAGA,” he posted.
Trump also slammed ABC News when they attempted to ask the president about it. “Mr. President, what do you say to people who view that luxury jet as a personal gift to you?” an ABC reporter asked Trump. “Why not leave it behind?” They added.

It was then that Trump went on the offensive. “You’re ABC fake news, right?” Trump responded. “Why not leave it behind?” the reporter asked again.
“Only ABC-well, a few of you would, let me tell you, you should be embarrassed asking that question,” Trump continued. They’re giving us a free jet. I could say ‘no, no, no’ don’t give us – I want to pay you a billion or 400 million’ or whatever it is or I could say ‘thank you very much’ you know?”

Trump then went on an anecdote about a golfer named Sam Snead, addressing his reported motto, “when they give you a put, you say thank you very much, you pick up your ball, and you walk to the next hole.” Trump continued, “A lot of people are stupid, they say ‘no, no, I insist on putting it’ and then they put it and they miss it. And their partner gets angry at them.”
“You know what, remember that Sam Snead, when they give you a put you pick it up, you walk to the next hole, and you say ‘Thank you very much,'” Trump continued. However, it appeared that the reporter would not be deterred easily.

“Respectfully, Sir, as a businessman some people look at this and say have you ever been given a gift worth millions of dollars and then not received anything?” the reporter tried to ask before they was cut off by Trump. “It’s not a gift to me its a gift to the Department of Defense, and you should know better, because you’ve been embarrassed enough and so has your network, your network is a disaster, ABC is a disaster,” the president said.
