We need you to help us identify the areas where the worst selfish and dangerous parking is taking placePavement parking is out of control in parts of Merseyside
Pavement parking has become a massive issue across Merseyside – and seems to be getting worse.
Rarely a week goes by that the ECHO is not sent images of cars parked dangerously across pedestrian pavements, blocking routes for people trying to get past. This is an issue we have covered for years and shows no sign of abating.
Some of the recent worst examples of pavement parking we have highlighted include Victoria Street in the city centre, where high-end vehicles are continually found dumped fully on the pavement.
Then there are the regular scenes outside Hunts Cross Primary School where parents appear to be engaged in some sort of royal rumble as they leave their vehicles strewn across sidewalks and grass verges at pick-up time.
Pavement parking is a growing problem in Merseyside
Such selfish and dangerous parking causes real problems for people in every day life. It is particularly challenging for people in wheelchairs or parents with prams who are forced to take dangerous diversions – sometimes into busy roads – just to get by.
We know that pavement parking is an issue that massively annoys people right across this region from the volume of messages and images that get sent to us on a regular basis.
With this in mind – we want to hear from you about where you think the worst streets are for pavement parking across the whole of Merseyside. Is your road regularly blocked by selfish drivers?
Is the main route through your town or village often littered with badly parked cars? Is there an area where you often find your blood boiling because of the actions of drivers?
