On Monday, May 18th, Bristol City Robins Foundation hosted its biggest event of the year, Celebration of Sport. The event brought over 800 participants from across Foundation programmes and community groups to Ashton Gate to play on the pitch.

Throughout the day, participants representing programmes including Premier League Primary Stars, Premier League Kicks, the Foundation’s Post-16 and Higher Education provision, Pan-Disability football, Women and Girls’ football, and Adult Health and Wellbeing initiatives took part in a series of matches and activities.

The event highlighted the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to creating inclusive opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds through the power of sport.

The Foundation’s Participation Manager, Jack Harding-Dancy, who organised the event said:

“It was fantastic to see so many participants from all our different projects get the experience to play on the Ashton Gate pitch. From walking footballers in their 50s and 60s to primary school children attending Ashton Gate for the very first time, it was great to bring so many people together and give them a day they’ll never forget.

“A huge thank you to Ashton Gate and the ground staff for allowing this to happen, as well as all of our staff who helped support participants throughout the day.”

Celebration of Sport continues to be one of the highlights of the Robins Foundation calendar, showcasing the breadth of the Foundation’s work across Bristol and the positive difference being made through football, physical activity and community engagement.
