Toby Carvery is understood to be interested in taking over a former Brewers Fayre restaurant which closed for good this week.

Its closure comes after parent company Whitbread, which also owns Premier Inn, announced it would shut its remaining Brewers Fayre and Beefeater sites across the county.
While no official plans have been confirmed for the now-vacant building on Jubilee Way, KentOnline understands Toby Carvery has expressed an interest in the site.
The chain currently operates four restaurants across Kent, with sites in Thanet, Maidstone, Badgers Mount and Gravesend.
Whitbread first revealed in April that Brewers Fayre sites in Dover, Sittingbourne and Paddock Wood would close as part of wider changes to its hospitality offering, along with eight Beefeater restaurants in the county.
In place of the traditional restaurant model, the company plans to introduce an “integrated food and drink” concept within its Premier Inn hotels.

Staff consultations began immediately following the announcement, with efforts made to redeploy workers into alternative roles where possible.
Whitbread said the decision was driven by mounting cost pressures, including rising business rates and increased National Insurance contributions.
A Toby Carvery spokesman offered no comment when approached by KentOnline.
