Liverpool players have deservedly enjoyed themselves after winning the Premier League title.

Their 5-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur to seal the title started a jubilant couple of weeks for the Reds.

The league games that have been played since have completely resembled the dead rubbers that they are.

The scenes have only been soured by Trent Alexander-Arnold announcing he’s leaving Liverpool on a free when his contract runs out in the summer.

This led to Trent being booed in his first Anfield game since confirming his exit.

The reaction from fans has divided the fanbase, as well as opinion from pundits and fans of other teams.

This is what makes the latest excursion by the Liverpool team controversial, as the players jet off to Dubai for a week.

Fans had been aware that the team would be heading out to Dubai for a celebration, but it’s only just been revealed what the trip represents.

DaveOCKOP has confirmed the holiday is primarily an official send-off for Trent Alexander-Arnold, ahead of the right-back’s move to Real Madrid.

DaveOCKOP claims this was organised collectively, with Trent being a “well-liked member of the squad”.

The players left for Dubai after their draw against Arsenal on Sunday and are returning on Friday, ahead of their away match against Brighton on Monday.

The time off is serving an important purpose for the club overall, with World Cup qualifiers and Nations League games taking place in early June.

This means the players can have a bit of time to relax outside of the increasingly packed footballing calendar, with even less time for rest in the summer than ever before.

However, with Trent Alexander-Arnold’s popularity at an all-time low among Liverpool fans, the trip has provoked a reaction.

Fans have been quick to have their say on the Dubai goodbye holiday for Trent.

One supporter said: “Hopefully they leave him there and he can hitchhike to Madrid.”

Another Red was left stunned: “Why, just why?”

While one fan had strong words for the players: “The players are stupid for doing that. Trent is a rat!”

However, others saw it in a more positive light: “Love this, while fans, myself included, are conflicted by him leaving…the team in the end sticks together as it should be apart from the derision externally. We all could learn something from this.”

Another added: “Some of the comments man! Whatever we think of Trent – it’s pretty reasonable his mates and colleagues send him off. Don’t make it too deep.”

While one Red pointed out: “That’s fine. Players do their thing. Fans do theirs.”

Finally, this supporter looked past the Trent situation and instead focused on the penultimate Premier League game.
