A road was closed to traffic this afternoon after a woman was hit by a car. Emergency services were called to Hatton Garden in Liverpool city centre at around 4.30pm today, May 13.
Police said the crash involved a Mercedes and a female pedestrian. The driver stopped at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to hospital for assessment of her injuries.
Arriva North West informed its customers a diversion would be put in place as a result of the incident.
In a statement, the bus company said: “Due to an incident at Hatton Garden services 54, 56 and 58A are diverted via Byrom St and Leeds Street out of city centre.”
The road was reopened a short time later. A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were called to Hatton Garden, Liverpool city centre at around 4.30pm today (Tuesday 13 May) to reports of a collision involving a Mercedes and a female pedestrian.
“The pedestrian was taken to hospital for assessment of injuries. The driver stopped at the scene. The road was reopened at around 5.10pm.”
