Michelin reports that it is considering “a project aimed at adapting its employee base in France on a voluntary basis”. The goal is to “optimize a cost structure that is too high today, support métier changes in the workplace and simplify the company’s functioning modes.” Michelin describes the plan as “a staffing reduction project with no involuntary terminations”, adding that it “could impact up to 1,500 positions over three years primarily in the tertiary functions.” More specifically, two-thirds would be from the tertiary functions and a third from the industrial sector. At the same time, Michelin is preparing a support program that would offer “personalized paths for internal or external mobility, reskilling and training toward jobs of the future.”
