It’s been over two weeks since a missing taxi driver from Manchester was last seen driving his cab near to Manchester Royal Infirmary.

Paul Pennington, 58, had last been seen in the vicinity of the hospital on April 30 but then failed to return. It’s believed he may have then travelled to Cumbria.

A further reported sighting of him later that evening was reported near to Windermere railway station at around 9.50pm, which was picked up on local CCTV.

Cumbria Police and Greater Manchester Police have re-issued an urgent appeal as the search continues for its 15th day.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact them immediately, with an appeal also issued for local taxi drivers, as it’s believed he could’ve been picked up from Windermere station by another taxi – thought to be a dark-coloured Ford Estate.

“Cumbria Police is appealing for the public’s help – and specifically taxi drivers in the Windermere area – in the search for a missing man who is believed to have travelled to Cumbria,” a force spokesperson said.

“Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact police. You can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/reportit. You can also phone on 101.”

As a GMP spokesperson said: “GMP and our colleagues in Cumbria are still appealing for information in relation to missing Paul Pennington. If anyone has any information, they are urged to contact police.”
