Prince Harry has been tipped to miss a major moment for his brother, Prince William, after he was blasted by a royal source following his bombshell BBC interviewPrince William, the new Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, arrive to view floral tributes to Queen Elizabeth II laid outside Cambridge Gate at Windsor Castle on 10th September 2022 in Windsor, United Kingdom.Prince Harry has been estranged from Prince William in recent years(Image: In Pictures via Getty Images)

Prince Harry’s chances of sharing in a pivotal Prince William event have been thrown into doubt after he came under fire from royal circles following an explosive BBC interview. The Duke of Sussex opened up to the BBC this month after a loss at the High Court regarding his reduced security detail whilst in the UK.

During the interview, Harry made several startling allegations, including saying he doesn’t know how “much time [King Charles] has left” after his cancer diagnosis, the implications of his book Spare on family relations, and his yearning for reconciliation. His remarks have sparked outrage among numerous royal commentators, who largely disapproved of his disclosures concerning the King’s health and conflicts within the royal household.

Page Six has reported insider claims that this interview may represent the breaking point in the ongoing rift with his relatives, while a royal biographer anticipates Harry’s estranged ties with Prince William will cause him to miss out on an important milestone for his sibling, reports the Express.

A source stated, “I think it’s done… I don’t think there’s [any] coming back from that.

“Before the interview, we thought, ‘Come on William, extend a hand to your brother’. But now it seems that Harry hasn’t learned s**t.”

The article pointed out that those close to the duke maintain he is eager to mend fences with his brother, citing his words to the BBC: “I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point continuing to fight any more, life is precious.”

Royal biographer Hugo Vickers has cast doubt on whether Harry’s recent outburst will mend his relationship with his family, including William. Vickers suggested that while William could “theoretically” invite Harry to his future coronation as King, the decision was not guaranteed.

He previously said: “But quite frankly he can do what he likes. It is not set in stone.

“The Duke of Windsor was not invited to [Queen Elizabeth’s] coronation in 1953.

“There was a lot of discussion about it. We know that William is unforgiving anyway.”

This follows claims by insiders who believe that Prince William has “no incentive” to speak to Prince Harry after his interview made headlines.

A source shared with the Mirror: “The Duke’s latest decision to speak publicly about his family and the situation he finds himself in will only result in him being further than ever from the reconciliation he now says he wants.

“At its very heart, for the family, there is a major trust issue when even thinking about speaking to him.”

The same sources allege that the Prince of Wales sees “no incentive” to reconcile with his brother given that Harry appears free to “only ever present one view”.

They said: “There is certainly no incentive to do so when he is so free to openly criticise and only ever present one view, being his.”
