Netflix has given Bridgerton fans plenty to be excited about today.

The streaming giant has confirmed that the romantic period drama will be getting both a season 5 and a season 6.

Not only that, but there’s also a new teaser trailer for season 4, which will be releasing in 2026.

The upcoming season will focus on Luke Thompson’s Benedict Bridgerton, and he takes centre stage in this new footage.

At a masked ball, everyone wants a piece of Benedict’s time, except he’s only got eyes for one person.

He stares at the mysterious Lady in Silver, as transfixed by her as she is by the glorious chandelier. But before he can approach her, another suitor comes over to ask her for a dance, leaving him crushed.

This new love interest is the character Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha, while the season will also feature another new character in the form of the young maid Hazel, played by Gracie McGonigal.

We have no idea which of Julia Quinn’s novels will be adapted in seasons 5 and 6, or when we can expect them, but showrunner Jess Brownell has stated that they’d like there to be a shorter turnaround in future.

It might be easier said than done, however, as she explained that: “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film, then they have to be edited, then they have to be dubbed into every language.

“And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace. We’re trying to speed up but somewhere in that range.”

Bridgerton seasons 1-3 are streaming on Netflix, along with Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
