It’s also a ‘biomechanic lab’
A barefoot footwear company known for its nature-connected ethos has opened a new store in the heart of Bristol, bringing with it a blend of science, sustainability, and community engagement.
Vivobarefoot’s newest UK outlet opened at 84 Park Street.
The 83m² store offers more than just shoes, aiming to reconnect urban dwellers with nature through a thoughtfully-designed space that features biophilic elements, innovative foot scanning technology and circular fashion initiatives.
The launch follows the recent opening of the company’s nature-inspired headquarters at Barley Wood Walled Garden in Somerset. Referred to as a “Nature Home”, the HQ is positioned as a regenerative workplace fostering creativity and deeper engagement with the natural world. It symbolises the brand’s commitment to environmentally conscious living and working practices.
Inside the Bristol store, customers are greeted by a lush living wall intended to boost wellbeing and bring elements of the outdoors inside.
At the heart of the retail experience is the Vivobiome foot scanning zone, equipped with plantar pressure plate analysis. This tool maps how weight is distributed across the foot to detect imbalances and support natural movement.
The store features Vivobarefoot’s full range of footwear, spanning everyday wear, performance trainers and outdoor adventure shoes. In addition, it houses a dedicated Revivo area, supporting the brand’s recommerce programme.
Worn and returned shoes are reconditioned and resold, while a take-back box allows customers to recycle their old footwear to minimise landfill waste.
To mark the opening, all customers making a purchase during launch week will receive a complimentary Barley Wood organic vegetable box.
Throughout the launch month, Vivobarefoot will offer free foot scans to local health professionals and movement advocates, alongside a rotating schedule of yoga classes and educational sessions on barefoot science — all open to the Bristol community.
Vivobarefoot’s Bristol opening is the latest in a series of expansions, which includes a newly opened store on Neal Street in London.
