Major Edinburgh city centre street taped off as police race to 'ongoing incident'

Police in Edinburgh were on the scene of an incident in the city centre on Thursday evening.

Officers were seen at Shandwick Place around 9.30pm on May 15, with multiple vehicles at the scene. The road was cordoned off while investigations were carried out.

The nature of the incident is unknown at this time, however locals reported seeing a ‘smashed window’ in a flat above the road.

The route was closed off to pedestrians from Sainsburys to The Grosevenor pub.

Police Scotland have been approached for comment.
