Poor Eric Pollard was worried he had made a terrible mistake (Picture: ITV)
Tracy Shankley (Amy Walsh) thought she was correcting her mistakes in tonight’s episode of Emmerdale but if anything, she’s just made things worse.
Over the past few months, Tracy has been pocketing money from the shop till.
It’s not being done because Tracy wants to buy nice things, it’s being done because she simply cannot afford to pay her bills and get by on the wage she receives from the shop.
With Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) missing, Tracy is a single mum to Frankie right now and takes £20 here and there to buy food or put clothes on her daughter’s back.

As tonight’s episode opened, Tracy took a parcel and spotted Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) getting the shop ready for another day. When Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) arrived and took the package, she wondered why Tracy was staring at Eric so much.
Her guilt increasing, Tracy ended up confessing her secret to her sister.
Tracy hoped she was in the clear…
At first, Vanessa judged Tracy but once she actually listened to her sibling, she understood the thefts were being committed out of pure desperation.
Vanessa gave Tracy an envelope later in the day, explaining it was the money she had stolen from Pollard. All Tracy needed to do was create a cover story, but things didn’t end the way she had hoped.

Tracy handed Eric the wad of cash and explained that she found it down the back of the safe.
She said that the missing money would probably balance the books again and while Eric was relieved, the discovery also put him in a bit of a panic.
Eric couldn’t help but wonder if misplacing the money was a sign his memory was deteriorating further. The character, who lives with Parkinson’s, took the blame for the entire thing, which made Tracy feel terrible.
Just when will he find out the truth?
