During Friday’s instalment of Good Morning Britain, ITV hosts Adil Ray and Kate Garraway were quick to celebrate their co-star Charlotte Hawkins’ birthday on air
Good Morning Britain viewers were in disbelief on Friday morning as the show celebrated one of the presenter’s 50th birthday.
During the programme, host Adil Ray and Kate Garraway halted the broadcast for an important announcement. Kate said: “Now, we do have some major breaking news about someone in this very studio.”
Kate informed ITV viewers that on this day, back in 1975, Charlotte Hawkins was born. As she spoke about her co-star’s birthday, a string of throwback images appeared on-screen.
One of the snaps was a young Charlotte holding a teddy bear while another saw her smiling on a horse. Another was a school portrait as the ITV presenter burst out laughing .

She commented: “Where did you get these from?!” Kate joked that her family had ‘betrayed’ her to send them into the show.
However, it was a video of Charlotte during one of her early career roles that left Adil speechless. He remarked: “What on earth?! You look older there! You look 63!”
Charlotte burst out laughing as she admitted to trying to appear more ‘grown-up’. The birthday celebrations didn’t end there as Laura Tobin appeared in the studio, wheeling in a cart of birthday cake.

Adil then presented her with a bouquet of flowers as Charlotte revealed her daughter is now reminding her she’s half a century old.
Although Kate was distracted by a black and white image of her colleague when she was younger, asking if it was Marilyn Monroe. Charlotte replied: “No, that was me back in the day, believe it or not!
“That was in my modelling days when I was earning a bit of money, while I was at university.”
Kate replied: “Happy Birthday, Charlotte. I still can’t quite believe she’s 50. I think it’s a lie.”
It wasn’t long before people watching took to Twitter to share the same sentiment as Kate, with many in disbelief over Charlotte turning 50.
