James Ryan, who was crowned champion apprentice last season, has nominated sprinter She’s Quality as the horse he is most looking forward to partnering this year.

The jockey fought off challengers on all sides to finish top of the standings last season with 33 winners and is keen to keep his foot on the pedal as the Flat season hots up. 

Ryan, 20, who is almost six feet tall, is attached to the Tom McCourt stable but has been picking up key rides for Ger Lyons and She’s Quality’s trainer Jack Davison.
