Remember Monday caused the same distraction for Eurovision Song Contest 2025 viewers as they took to the stage in a 26-year first for the UK.
The trio – made up of friends Lauren Byrne, Holly-Anne Hull and Charlotte Steele – were seen competing during the Song Contest’s grand final in Basel, Switzerland on Saturday night (May 17).
As the UK’s hopefuls this year, Remember Monday performed their track, What The Hell Just Happened?, dressed in colourful Bridgerton-style outfits.
Remember Monday, who are the UK’s first girl group entrant since 1999, performed eighth on the bill at the event, with their song written by Danish songwriter Thomas Stengaard – who was among those who penned the 2013 Eurovision winning song Only Teardrops for his home country.
But as they group took to stage, some viewers were distracted by their pastel-coloured outfits as they quickly made the same comparison on social media.
@manduescx said: “The uk is giving… #Eurovision #Eurovision2025,” with a picture of Remember Monday alongside a picture of Disney princesses Rapunzel, Cinderella and Belle.
@lunita_sar wrote: “Ok United Kingdom I see you girl with your Disney princesses #Eurovision.” @uroda__kusok commented: “UK this year is represented by disney princesses and I think it’s beautiful #Евровидение #Eurovision #Eurovision2025.”
@AngieBeatDown asked: “What the f*** is the UK entry into Eurovision. Why are the dressed like Disney characters.” @DHBScott quipped: “In fairness, the UK did not too badly, considering they’ve had a full day of posing for photos with tourists at Disneyland Paris beforehand.. #Eurovision.”

The show was opened by Norway’s Kyle Alessandro who sung his song Lighter, while acts including Luxembourg’s Laura Thorn, with La Poupee Monte Le Son, and Tommy Cash, with Espresso Macchiato, have also performed.
It is the first time Switzerland has been the host nation of the Eurovision Song Contest after the legend that is Celine Dion won in 1988, so the wait to roll out Eurovision’s famous turquoise carpet has been a long one.
This year, it was hosted by an award-winning stand-up comedian and presenter, one of Switzerland’s best-known international personalities and a former Eurovision participant – Hazel Brugger, Michelle Hunziker. and Sandra Studer.
